SUMMARY=

Assist retail custome= rs at final check out, provide telephone assistance, direct customers to requested products and refer customers that need more technical help.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following responsibilities in the order of priority.=   Other duties may be assigned.

 

Perform daily opening= and closing activities including counting tills, reports and end of day back-up= .

 

Greet all customers i= n a professional manner.

 

The primary responsibility is to pro= vide customers assistance at the check out counter.

 

Provide telephone req= uested price and product information.

 

Maintain housekeeping in assigned area including dusting, facing, store displays and identification of inventory discrepancies.

 <= /span>

 Receive in-store inventory, price as required and stock shelves.

 

Complete inventory co= unt sheet updates weekly by class.

 

Review inventory stat= us of in-store items and prepare restocking purchase orders. 

 

Maintain an upbeat professional work environment.

 

SUPERVISORY REQPONSIBILITIES

None required.

 

QUALIFICTIONS

EDUCATION and\or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and\or train= ing; or equivalent combination or education and experience.  One year retai= l sales experience preferably in hardware or building materials. =

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

A= bility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  <= span class=3DGramE>Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to eff= ectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to com= pute rate, ratio, and percents. 

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply comm= on sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diag= ram form.  Abi= lity to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Valid California drivers= license.
